Guess what? The Diddy Bop is back and this time he brought two skinny chicks with him.  The highly anticipated, over-advertised, Last Train to Paris finally dropped and to my surprise, it is absolutely fantastic.  It pains me to admit that, considering the number of Danity Kane posters I still have in my bedroom…….

It seems that Daytona is looking to raise the stakes with a focus on increasing the epic wrecks that make the sport so epic to watch.  Adding to the danger factor, a redesigned track will keep cars closer together with speeds up to 200 mph…..

Did you recently just move into your own place?  Are you having trouble decorating your bachelor pad?  Now that you’re a big boy you should decorate your place so it doesn’t look like you like in a psych ward.  I mean sure you can throw a rug there, some posters on the wall, and add magnets to your fridge, but that doesn’t really say sophisticated now does it?  Let’s take a look at ways to turn your bachelor pad into your personal oasis:

Bathroom: First things first and I can’t stress this enough: KEEP YOUR BATHROOM CLEAN.  Definitely keep the rest of your apartment clean, but your bathroom should be spotless, and of course decorated nicely……

Staying warm safely

Whether you use a portable space heater or a wood burning fireplace for your heating needs, extreme caution should be used when employing any type of heating system. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), 79% of fatal fires are caused by space heating equipment. Heating equipment continues to be the second leading cause of home fires, and the second leading cause of home fire deaths.

What is your style?

I am into grunge, and I am into hipsters.  With that said, my best dressed male celebrities of 2010 will not be like any other compilation out there.  These guys have a style that is all their own, and they do not look like anyone else out there (nor do they care to conform to the masses).  This is why I think they deserve to be in the spotlight:

5. James Franco – James Franco is a great actor, writer, and director, as well as a great dresser.  Known as a city boy, he wears button down plaid shirts, leather jackets, cardigans, and slim jeans.  Grab a pair of aviators, and a pair of black rugged leather boots, and you have got his look down…..

COUGH IT UP COUGHLIN

21 Dec

BY FF COLUMNIST: JUAN GALAN

No words can explain or express the way Giants players and fans feel this morning after that devastating 38-21 loss to The Eagles last night. A complete meltdown from the Giants in the fourth quarter no matter how much I look back and view those last 8:17 minutes of complete domination from Michael Vick and the Eagles.

“By far, this is one of the greatest comebacks of my career, being down by such a huge deficit,” said Vick. “We were able to come back in a short period of time. It’s outstanding.”

Vick who single handily beat the football Giants yesterday afternoon threw for 242 yards 3 touchdowns and ran for 130 yards and also had a rushing td. You see the numbers don’t impress me cause at the end of the day he’s Vick and we all expect that from him but to do it all in 8:17 left in the fourth quarter it’s plain and simple remarkable. He won that game faster then you getting a Cinnamon Dolce Crème Frappuccino at Starbucks during rush hour. And when you think its all said and done and we’re heading to overtime here comes DeSean Jackson and takes a 65-yard punt return to the house.

“I was thinking to myself like they’re not going to kick it to me,” Jackson said. ” I was thinking he was going to kick it out bounce. But it got to me. From there, I just used my instincts and my speed to get into the end zone.”

And that he did. DeSean Jackson 65-yards punt return touchdown was the longest game-winning TD on the final play of regulation since 1960. And also puts him in second place (behind Gale Sayers 12) on the list of players with the most 60-yard touchdowns before the age of 25.

You know what else is outstanding, that Tom Coughlin wasn’t wheeled away in a stretcher after that game or how he didn’t kick the kicker. (All jokes aside)
The rookie kicker (who’s name I will not say due to security reason) was ordered to kick the ball out of bounce by Coughlin but did the complete opposite. And handed the Eagles the top seed in the NFC East.

The Giants dominated the first half, out gaining the Eagles 222-74 sacking Vick twice and forcing a interception. Eli Manning finished the game with 289 yards and four touchdowns. Mario Manningham had eight catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns.

Any last words Coughlin?

“I’ve never been around anything like this in my life”, Coughlin said. “It’s about as empty as you get to feel in this business, right there”.

This week is Christmas, and then before you know it it’s New Years eve.  And then before you know it it’s spring 2011!  Now you’re left wondering, “What the hell am I going to wear?”  According to thefashionmanifesto.com there are five trends that will be making the rounds: Edgy, Classic, the James Bond type, anti-fashion, and the super straight Alpha male.

1.      For Edgy, envision a Male Gaga.  Well to an extent anyway!  Leather (or pleather) pants, and vests.  Think modern day biker dude.  If you’re into edgy check out Christopher Bailey’s collection…….

PHOTOGRAPHER

BY FF COLUMNIST: Jennifer Nova

I was introduced to Jiancas lazarus’ s website Through Ray Wong A.K.A Fashion Guru.  When I first saw her work I was amazed at the life in her photos even when not capturing the brightest colors she is able to give any color vibrancy and life.  My first thought was “OOOOH! That is some great photoshoping” but then I leaned forward and looked deeper and thought” this is better than a photo shopped picture it was too natural and raw to be photo shopped” Ray then confirmed that none of her work is photo shopped.

It seems like everyone from young children to the elderly have a reading tablet.  This may seem like an exaggeration, but my two year niece knows how to use an ipad!  Apple’s ipad is not the only one on the market, most networks are coming out with a plethora of new tablets promising to be smaller, faster, more efficient that the one preceding.  The following breaks a few popular models down to the specific need at hand:

Winter has graced its bitter coldness upon us.  For most of us it’s dreadful and leaves us longing for the days of the summer sun.  But for a tiny percent of us it has us grabbing our boots, boards, and bindings!  Snowboarding junkies are literally counting down the days until it is time for them to strap on their boards and “airdogging” their way down the slope.

Snowboarding is a sport inspired by skateboarding, surfing, and skiing wrapped into one lovely package.  It started in the 60’s and 70’s stateside and became an Olympic Sport in 1998.  According to statistics the best year for snowboarding was 2004 with a total of 6.6 million snowboarders.  They usually lie between the ages of 18-24 and 25% account for female.  Now that we’re entering the second decade of the 2000s we’re seeing more age ranges, and more of both sexes.

Males and Eating Disorders

A dangerous secret to keep

Society may not want to admit this, but women are not the only ones who suffer from Eating Disorders, also known as ED’s.  A growing number of men have been diagnosed with ED’s ranging from anorexia and bulimia to eating disorders not otherwise specified (also known as EDNOS)

To celebrate the holidays, my song pick of the week is “I’ll be home for Christmas”, sung by Bing Crosby on the “White Christmas” soundtrack. “White Christmas” (1954), is still one of the most popular Christmas movies of all time.  This classic film carries some of the most celebrated and well known holiday songs which we all hold dear to our hearts.

Leadership Through Teamwork

14 Dec

Samantha Dudhnath

Future leaders must know how to follow first then lead

Teamwork

Teamwork: Shorewood Lip Dub

The kids from Shorewood High took teamwork to a whole new level with their video of them lip dubbing the popular Hall and Oates song “You Make My Dreams Come True.”  They all had to be in backwards sync with each other.  They had to learn movements, and lyrics all in backwards motions.  And there was more than a couple of hundred of them.  So imagine the teamwork and effort that had to come together to make this video.  The next time you’re complaining about working with collegues, just think of these amazing kids, and the outcome they created.  Anything is possible with a little teamwork!
