Recently you learned to dress like a rock star.  Now let us take a closer look into what the lifestyle of a rock star really entails.  We already know what a groupie’s lifestyle is like, so let us delve into that of a rock star.  Some of this may even come as a surprise; it is not always “sex, drugs and rock and roll” as most commonly associated…..

According to the website there is a formula dedicated to living the life of a rock star.  Let’s take a look: “P + C + Co + A + I = RS.”  What does this mean?  Let me break it down for you: “Passion + Confidence + Community + Action + Improvements = Rock Star.”  In my opinion the biggest quality that you need to have to become a rock star is the hardest one to come by: luck.

The lifestyle is not as glamorous as it may seem.  Sure there are perks such as free loot (clothes, gadgets, trips around the world, and the adoring fans).  With the glamour, also comes the ugly.  Paparazzi follows your every move, as well as groupies not giving you a moment to breathe.  Traveling to all these amazing countries and venues is hardly enjoyable with the idea that leaving your hotel room could cause frenzy.  If you do get to leave your hotel room you are merely going to and from the recording studio, or to the arena where you are performing.

But where does sex and drugs come into play?  The lifestyle you lead can be a lonely one.  You take what you can get, and try to make relationships with what you can learn about someone in the short time you are in that area.  Drugs are usually readily available, and it is not seen as such a taboo.  Some artists even use them to maintain their weight as their eating habits are difficult to control living out vehicles and hotel rooms.

This is a realistic view on what it is to be a rock star.  Be sure to not let this get you down if this is your dream.  If being the lead singer in a band is your goal, none of this should matter to you.  Follow your dreams, and stay true to who you are, and hopefully you will be lucky enough to lead the life of a rock star (making your own rules).
