Have you recently rented or purchased your new bachelor pad but have not been able to break in the kitchen yet?  Well maybe you grabbed a beer out of the fridge a couple of times, but that is the extent of it.  There are Chinese take-out cartons and pizza boxes littering the floor.  Put down that Gino’s Menu and slowly step away from the phone.  Walk into the kitchen; you see that square silver thing with five knobs on the front, and four burners on top of it?  That amazing contraption is called a stove.  Cooking for yourself is easy, healthy, and you will save a ton of money.  Here are three recipes from cooks.com to get you started on your wonderful adventure in the kitchen:…..

Perfect Roast

potroast_bachelor_fourfront1602

1 eye round roast or sirloin tip
Lawry’s season salt
Black pepper
Garlic salt
Onion salt

Preheat oven to 550 degrees. Place roast in shallow baking pan, fat side up and cover the entire roast with the 4 seasonings in the order they appear above.

Bake for 5 minutes per pound. After time is up, turn oven off, but do not open oven door. Leave roast in closed oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. This recipe will make a perfect roast, medium to medium rare, with lots of flavor and juice.  The next day try it on a baguette with your favorite condiment and fixings for a tasty steak sandwich.
