Christina Perri collected her ticket to fame when her song Jar of Hearts was featured on So You Think You Can Dance in June 2010. Afterwards the single started to raise eyebrows, selling 48, 000 digital copies, and more than 100, 000 copies in total. Perri began making guest performances on TV shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Early Show on CBS.

This was a dream come true for the Philadelphia native. On her personal blog, Perri attributes her sudden success to positive thinking. “Maybe someone somewhere does not believe in the whole “put it out into the universe + believe it + watch it come true” philosophy and maybe after hearing my story they just slightly will. Maybe they’ll throw their wishes into the cosmos + in 2011 get that epic job… or catch the biggest wave… or the catch the biggest catch,” she says on her blog.

Perri moved to Los Angeles on her 21st birthday to try to make it big in the music industry. Her song “Jar of Hearts” has a musical style that is similar to Sara Bareilles “Gravity” and a vocal sound similar to Alanis Morissette.  In November she released her EP, “The Ocean Way.  The self-taught guitarist is now on everyone’s radar in 2011.”While all of this was happening, I barely slept,” Perri says, “because I was afraid it was just a dream; that I’d wake up and none of it would be real. One minute I did not exist in the music world and the next minute I did. It has been so unbelievable.”

She is working on her LP and says that all the songs are going to be about love. We cannot wait Christina!
