Do people still go out on dates now-a-days?

If you do, then consider….

By: Samantha Dudhnath

You have done the traditional dates.  You have taken your girl to dinner and the movies, coffee shops, cuddling on the couch and “watching” Netflix on demand, but now you want to spice it up a bit.  You want to do something that isn’t quite the norm.  Here are a few non-traditional dates that will leave your lover staring at you all starry-eyed:

Cabin Fever

By: Samantha Dudhnath

I am completely stuck in cabin fever mode now.  I don’t know about you, but the slushy grossness of the dirty snow makes me nauseous, and the off gray sky is making me super depressed.  And it’s only February.  Without a doubt more snow is coming.  So what’s a girl/guy to do during this dark period?  Why not tap into your creative side.  Even if you say you’re not an artist, just go for it.  Don’t hold anything back.  Here are three ways I unleash my creative side:

Lauryn Hill

Miseducated genius

' 1 laurynhill-miseducatedgenius-music-wyclefjean'

My artist of the week spotlight will shine on Lauryn Hill who I believe to be a beautiful, gifted and talented woman. Hill’s music has a personal signature that marks it as distinctly hers. She takes ownership of her craft, just as she does her style. We all remember her time with the Fugees, and their hits like Killing Me Softly and “Ready or Not” but it was with her 1998 release of her debut solo album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” that she made her name unforgettable on the music scene.

Item Of The Week

31 Jan

This week’s item of the week comes from 21 Men.  Hats.  I can’t get enough of them, and I sure as hell like a guy wearing one.  Fedoras are one of my favorites, and I’m telling you you’ll look sharp in one.  This one adds a little flair with an old time black and white plaid, with a patterned ban around it.  The women will love you in it.

Avant-garde =  trademark of modernism

By: Samantha Dudhnath

avantgarde_fourfront1602

What is avant-garde?  What does it have to do with fashion?  Well, it has a lot to do with fashion, art, culture, and lifestyle.  Avant-garde pushes against the social norms and boundaries that we see on a ‘day to day’ basis.  It explores a different type of beauty then what we are not used to seeing.  Avant-garde is said to be the trademark of modernism.  It is also considered to be anything that is a rebellion ahead of the times.

Everyone likes to be different. We would all like our apparel to reflect our own personal style. If you don’t have any experience in design or fashion, you may have to depend on designers to create your look.  However custom apparel is becoming more and more popular with the advent of customizing applications like the one used by Nike and many other companies online.

Have you recently rented or purchased your new bachelor pad but have not been able to break in the kitchen yet?  Well maybe you grabbed a beer out of the fridge a couple of times, but that is the extent of it.  There are Chinese take-out cartons and pizza boxes littering the floor.  Put down that Gino’s Menu and slowly step away from the phone.  Walk into the kitchen; you see that square silver thing with five knobs on the front, and four burners on top of it?  That amazing contraption is called a stove.  Cooking for yourself is easy, healthy, and you will save a ton of money.  Here are three recipes from cooks.com to get you started on your wonderful adventure in the kitchen:…..

robertmontgomery_fourfront1602

By: Samantha Dudhnath

Robert Montgomery is more than just your average street artist.  According to his website, “Robert Montgomery works in a poetic and melancholic post-situationist tradition.”  He takes advertising spaces from around the world and installs his pieces in there place.  Montgomery tries to grab more than just the attention of people passing by.  He tries to inspire them, and bring some sort of hope into their lives.

“The Jets fly high”

BY: Juan Galan

photo

After an entire week of trash talking the Jets had the last word-On and off the field.  The New York Jets defeated (the bully) The New England Patriots 28-21 last night but don’t let the score fool you the Jets defense dominated Brady and the highest scoring offense in the league. The truth to this story is plain and simple one Rex Ryan had to find a way to out smart Brady and Belichick in which he did when he decided to put his ego to the side and change his approach and defense. He completely fooled the Patriots. He came out with a strong zone were he rushed a three man line and dropped more guys into coverage. This let to Brady standing longer in the pocket which he’s not used to and allowed the defensive line to get after Brady and produce 5 sacks and 1 interception. Ryan also added a ton of movements to his front line this also caused many confusions to Brady and didn’t allow him to get comfortable at the scrimmage line……. Read more on this inspirational game.
