“The Jets fly high”

After an entire week of trash talking the Jets had the last word-On and off the field.
The New York Jets defeated (the bully) The New England Patriots 28-21 last night but don’t let the score fool you the Jets defense dominated Brady and the highest scoring offense in the league. The truth to this story is plain and simple one Rex Ryan had to find a way to out smart Brady and Belichick in which he did when he decided to put his ego to the side and change his approach and defense. He completely fooled the Patriots. He came out with a strong zone were he rushed a three man line and dropped more guys into coverage. This let to Brady standing longer in the pocket which he’s not used to and allowed the defensive line to get after Brady and produce 5 sacks and 1 interception. Ryan also added a ton of movements to his front line this also caused many confusions to Brady and didn’t allow him to get comfortable at the scrimmage line.

“It was a little bit different, definitely, a little more zone.” receiver Wes Welker said. ” They did a great job game planning. You work on one thing all week and then you get something different.”

The second part was Mark Sanchez and the offensive line. Hard to believe but true, for the Jets to even have a chance to compete in this game Sanchez had to play his best football yet. And he did. Sanchez completed 16-25 passes for 194 yards a qb rating of 127.3 and threw 3 touchdowns. (Tomlinson, Edwards and Holmes) But these numbers and stats are not what impress me last night it was what the offensive line and they were capable of doing. They’re the reason why Sanchez was allowed to built his confidence and stay comfortable in the pocket. Sanchez was not sacked at all he was hurried a couple of times and when they did he made them pay. The Jets offensive line matched up and beat the Patriots defensive front. Now if you recall when the game started Sanchez was off target when he overthrow three open receivers on his first three possession that followed with a low incompletion throw in the second series. But that change when he found Cotchery for 9 yards that set up a third-and-6 at the Patriots 45. The Patriots forced him out the pocket on the next play, but he managed to scramble out point in the direction that he wanted Edwards to go to and completed 37 yard pass. That followed by a td catch by Tomlinson. (7th
